I bought this and a similarly-priced Coleman canister at the same time to see which I liked better.
Both have similar build-quality and materials. However this canister's capacity is about 4x that of the Coleman's! So if you want a big, well-made canister this is definitely the way to go.
I estimate the capacity at about a gallon - it is quite large. Perfect for storing large quantities of rice, flour, or whatever you like. Highly recommended! |
I love it!

| I love the great quality and the brushed stainless steel look. It matches my kitchen appliances. I own many of them in different sizes for storing rice, pasta, sugar, etc. I use the jumbo size to store flour. You should be careful to keep the flour away from the seal. It will keep it from staying in place; however, you can remedy this by simply removing the seal,(it easily detaches) putting it under warm water and patting it dry. If your careful this won't happen. I think the style outweighs this slight problem that may happen only when using it to store flour. |
Pretty good

| These canisters are a very good size for sugar and flour. They seal tightly and look good on my counter. My only complaint would be that one of the two I purchased the lid doesn't line up very well and has to be manually straightened before it is sealed. Otherwise a good buy for the price. |
Good product for it's price

I have several of these canisters in varying sizes and I love them. They are functional and attractive. It isn't obvious, but the gasket has a right and a wrong way to fit. If you get it wrong it keeps falling off. Took me a while to figure that one out!
To the other reviewers who asked, this size takes a 5lb bag of flour with room to spare or nearly 7lb of rice |
Loved but broke

I bought this to use as a compost container on my counter. I loved it... but my mom pulled the gasket out to wash it (and I never got it back in right - but decided I didn't need it (mabye not the case if you plan on storing sugar).
I ran it through the dishwasher a handful of times. The lid snapped in 2 as it flipped around and hit the jar (when I opened it) and that was the end... about 3 months in. But, not sure if machine washing it hurt it.
I also added little rubber feet because I hated the scratching noise it made on my counter. |
