I did my research before buying this safe as well, and the only complaint I found from other people was the poor packaging for shipping. As others have mentioned, the shipping problems seem to be remedied.
I received my safe in prefect condition. No damage in shipping what-so-ever. It was boxed in the original packaging, then boxed again with additional packing for extra protection as well as being discreate.
I am completely satisfied with this safe, and would definitly reccomend to anyone. |

Fireproof/Waterproof Honeywell 2087D Safe

This is an excellent product but unfortunately the packaging is about a one star rating. The first safe was badly damaged upon receipt. Amazon quickly rectified the problem by letting me return the damaged product ant no cost to me. They also shipped me a replacement product immediately. The second safe also had minimal damage which did not affect the functionality. It was clear to me that Honeywell does not provide enough packaging to protect this heavy product. As a result through normal handling damage occurs.
After receiving the safe I had to call Honeywell customer service because the safe was locked and there were no instructions included that told what to do if the safe was locked. Honeywell gave excellent support and the representative stayed on the line until I was totally confident on setting up the safe. The setup was a snap and the operation of entry and closing the safe went without incident. I was pleased with the size as I can place letter size documents either in a standup or laydown position. The key holder and the adjustable shelf is also a plus. I'd recommend this safe to anyone wishing for a digital safe combination. The lighted dial really makes entering the combination easy. |
Broke, Broke, Broke

| I ordered this twice. The first time it was sent to me, FedEx did not want to deliver it a second time so when I missed it the first time they sent it back to Amazon. It was a cat and mouse game. When it arrived it was in the actual safe box so everyone could see I was ordering a home safe (not safe). It ended up the electronics were broken in the handling of package from FedEx. Could not use the box it came in to send it back because it was torn to pieces when it arrived. I had to find a box big enough to fit safe. Amazon sent out a new one and it arrived in the same condition. It was indeed broken again and the safe would not open. I called honeywell both times and they said it was the handling of the safe from FedEx and it should not come in the original safe box and that Amazon was packaging it incorrectly. Never go t the safe as Amazon will only send out one extra replacement. To be honest I did not want to deal with this as finding boxes for the mammoth size box was a pain. I was told by Amazon that they get most of this product back broken too! |

| These Closetmaid products and good quality and easy to install. This one is a bit more to assemble with nuts and bolts to connect the two portions. But if you wan to use them separately, you can do that and have two separate drawers (just in case this one unit is cheaper than two separate units). In that case you just install the two bases each with four screws. I did that today with using a 2-tier unit as two separate (no more of separate at the store...). |
